Speed painting

Contestants within the Miss America Organization are given a minute and thirty seconds to perform a talent. When Maya was tasked with figuring out what she would perform there was one clear answer, SPEED PAINTING! Although speed painting is not a new concept to the Miss America Organization, Maya offers a new twist to the non traditional talent with high energy, fun collaborations, and interesting content. 

Speed painting has opened many doors and opportunities for Maya. After a video of her 2022 Miss Michigan talent routine went viral on Tik Tok, with over 3.3 million views Maya started to gain a following. Maya has worked in collaboration with Aquinas College, where she performed multiple paintings at their Homecoming in September 2022,  She was also featured on the Detroit Lions official account for recreating Jameson Williams iconic logo design. A third highlight of her speed painting career was when she was posted on Michigan State University's instagram account, as well as the MSU College of Arts and Letters (her personal college). Between all platforms Maya's speed paintings have received over 3,638,400 views. 

Maya showcases her talent by doing what she loves. She hopes by continuing to share her talent, she can inspire more people to pursue their passions! Maya would love to see more non traditional talents being represented locally, at the state level, and even nationally.
