Throughout the struggles in her life, the arts have always been a home for Maya. She has loved art from a young age, claiming that she was drawing before she could talk.
Maya is a graduate of Buchanan High School where she served as an active member of the community. She continued her education at Michigan State University and will graduate in the spring of 2023.
Maya is a lifelong lover of the Miss America Organization. A few years ago, Maya decided to take a chance at chasing her dreams and entered her first local competition.
Contestants within the Miss America Organization are given a minute and thirty seconds to present a talent. When Maya was tasked with figuring out what she would present there was one clear answer, speed painting!
